Setting does not determine scope. Job role, graduate preparation, supervision, professional credentials, state licensure, billing requirements, and employer standards can all affect what a practitioner may provide in a particular position.

INDIANA DOES NOT HAVE INDEPENDENT ART THERAPY LICENSURE YET.
THE PROFESSION IS ALREADY HERE.
Indiana has graduate art therapy education, professionally credentialed art therapists, established national standards, and practitioners working across mental health, healthcare, education, community, and independent-practice settings. Indiana currently lacks a state licensure framework specifically for art therapy. Independent art therapy licensure can establish qualification standards and protected professional titles in Indiana law.
READY WORKFORCE
Indiana already has trained art therapists and graduate education contributing to the state’s behavioral health and community systems.
