DEI Statement

Indiana Art Therapy Association Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

IndiATA is committed to building and nurturing a culture where inclusivity is a natural response, not a short term initiative. Our members cultivate a shared commitment to equity, engagement, and social responsibility, working toward cultural competence with humility. We know that diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative therapeutic environment that benefits clients, community members, and art therapists. We celebrate diversity related to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities/qualities, neurodiversity, religious beliefs, political beliefs, and relationship status. We respect and value all members of our community, and we know that diverse perspectives strengthen everything that we do as an organization.
